After colonisation everything changed for the Texcoco people after they were invaded by the Spaniards (Spanish) in 1521. after this happened the laws of the Texcoco changed and rules changed. the Texcoco’s also weren't allowed to wear their clothes that they would normally wear or perform ceremonies for events in their calendar. Most of the Texcoco people were killed in the war against the Spanish, all of the survivors that survived the war were put in prisons and were used as slaves. the Texcoco’s were also forced to change religion because the spanish believed in Christianity. Christianity wasn’t the way that they tried to change the aztecs they also tried to make the aztecs speak the spanish language, this was stopped by disease that spread over their people and killed many of the Texcoco’s. one of the reason’s that aztecs didn’t bother to fight back after they were captured is because the leader of the Aztecs Montezuma was killed by a disease, so this meant that the Aztecs didn’t have leader to guide them.
